- Am I allowed to hedge on the platform?
PIPTRADE does not provide hedging to clients. All positions are worked on a FIFO basis (First In First Out). This means that when you take an opposite trade to any open order the system will automatically close this order. If the trade sizes are uneven then the system will close the trade size that is equal on both trades and leave you with an open position with the remaining trade.
- Do you guarantee stop loss orders?
PIPTRADE has a No Slippage policy therefore Stop loss is guaranteed even in volatile market conditions.
- What are Stops and Limit orders?
As well as opening a position at the current market price, you can also place an order to buy or sell if the market reaches a certain level, designated by you, higher or lower than the current market price. These are known as pending orders and there are 2 types, limit and stop. A limit order is an order placed to fill at a level better than the current market. For example if GOLD is trading $900/oz. you can place a limit order to buy gold at $850. If the market reaches the level you have selected, the limit order will ‘fill’ and the system will automatically open a new buy position at that level. A stop order, by contrast, is an order placed to fill at a level worse than the market. To use the same example, GOLD is trading at $900/oz. and you may place a stop order to buy gold if it reaches $950/oz. and, again, if the level is reached the system will automatically open a new buy position at that level. For sell positions, limit orders are set above the market price, and stop orders are set below the market price.
- What happens to my position overnight?
For any rolling spot contract PIPTRADE will deduct or credit an overnight interest fee. These fees depend on current interest rates, trade size and the open price of the trade. Islamic accounts are charged at a standard storage fee of $3 per position per night.
- How can I view my trading history?
On the PIPTRADE 1.0 page, towards the bottom you will see your Open Positions. Next to the OPEN POSITIONS tab, there is a tab labeled TRADE HISTORY. Click this tab and you will see the history of your trades. If you move to the right of this tab you will see 2 dates, a ‘From’ date and a ‘To’ date. This enables you to set the date range of your trade history.
- How do I trade when a product’s trading session is open?
Next to every product there will be Green dot that signals that the product is currently available for trading. If the dot is Red that means the specific product is not currently available for trading
- How swaps are calculated?
There is an interest rate calculator, which can be found on our web site in the products section. The calculation is as follows: Interest rate (%) x Contract value (contract value is equal to daily close price multiplied by contract size) / 360 = Overnight interest fee. We recommend that you use the calculator provided to avoid any confusion but using this calculation you can determine the interest rate fees for yourself
